Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic:- Overseeing, instructing, and tutoring students for assignments and major projects utilising computational intelligence algorithms they learn in this subject.- Projects include development of brain-computer interfaces, voice and face recognition programs, overhead gantry crane control, and environment control units.Biomedical Instrumentation and Applications:- Overseeing, instructing, and tutoring students for assignments and major projects with biomedical applications.- Projects include development of ECG/EEG acquisition circuits, low-cost telemetry patient monitors, iPhone/iPad apps for telehealth, control of blood-glucose levels in diabetic patients, and control of air-flow using a ResMed S8 AutoSet Spirit for sleep apnea therapy.

Frequent presentations to promote UTS engineering courses to high school careers advisors and students, both at the university and to individual high schools.

Thesis title: "A Smart Wheelchair System using a Combination of Stereoscopic and Spherical Vision Cameras":- Developed and trialled a smart wheelchair named TIM (Thought-controlled Intelligent Machine), designed as an option to provide independence in mobility to people living with locked-in syndrome (LIS). - Utilises stereoscopic and spherical vision camera systems to allow TIM to perceive its surroundings and automatically navigate through crowded, dynamic environments.- Worked on a brain-computer interface system - Aviator (TM) - as a hands-free control method.- Following full system integration, experimental trials produced successful results for the designed smart wheelchair system.Link to the feature segment of this work on Channel TEN's The Project:

- Collect and enter all surveys for the UTS Remote Labs, surveyed from academics all around Australia- Data analysis, statistics, reporting, and recommendations for the new labs and remote test rigs

Research project entitled ‘Monitoring and regulation of key cardio-respiratory responses in free ranging outdoor exercises based on multi-variable analysis’.Developed, using LabVIEW, a multi-variable Bluetooth wireless control platform for an automated treadmill, where a wireless ECG acquisition device with an internal accelerometer provided inputs to determine variables such as heart rate, stride distance, and physical stress, which were used to control the speed and incline of the treadmill to track desired heart rate in a smooth manner.
