A lifetime of experience has led me to my current career path. Serving as a US Navy Corpsman in Fallujah, Iraq allowed me a high level of medical training and, unfortunately, all of the psychological burdens of the weight we bear in combat. I took that skillset and the need to give back with me upon my return to the civilian world. I worked for a significant amount of time in allopathic medicine by serving in several urgent care and cardiology offices. During this time, I also spent 10 years volunteering for music festival medical teams. This exposed me to all of the worst case scenarios when it comes to the improper ingestion/use of psychedelics. Little did I realize at the time, I was actively suffering due to an inability to process my own significant traumas throughout life, not just the military. Eventually, upon nearing the end of my own rope, I was given a much needed change in perspective through psychedelic therapy. Upon finding my own path to true healing, I was connected to some groups in 2019 that put my medical, psychedelic, and general life experience to use in a therapeutic setting. I have been privileged in working with Iboga, Ibogaine, Psilocybin, 5 MeO-DMT, and MDMA. The ripple effects of this work have convinced me to devote my life to it. My ability to relate to the severely traumatized is unique and I intend to make the most of my own experience. I'm happy to jump back into the trenches if I can teach another individual to build stairs out of the hole. In the last few years I have had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the most esteemed individuals in the psychedelic community. Pioneers in the field of research and the best of the best in regards to ceremonial procedure. I even got the opportunity to use the golden nuggets of wisdom and experience I gained from those pioneers in the creation of a new program entirely, Heroic Path to Light(Illuminating Heroes). I'm proud to have assisted some truly incredible people that are actively changing the world. Moving forward, I have returned to school in order to make myself more of a resource. I am actively pursuing degrees in addiction counseling and experimental psychology. I have also become sole caretaker to my Grandmother who is in her own form of perpetual ego death(Alzheimer's/Dementia). A true training regiment. I believe this course of action, combined with the trials the universe has given me, will allow me the best tools to truly be of service to my community moving forward.Do what you can, when you can; always.
