Robert Palumbo is a board certified Orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship trained and has an additional board certification in sports medicine. He has an extensive expertise in arthroscopic and open surgical treatment of sports medicine injuries of the shoulder, knee , elbow hip and ankle.He has an additional expertise in cartilage restoration surgery. Dr, Palumbo serves as a second opinion physician for the NFL Players association. He has a 10 year history as the team physician for the US Soccer Woman's National Team. He serves as a team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies and is Head Team physician for their AAA affiliate. Dr. Palumbo also serves as medical advisor for the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, an organization founded by Hall of Famer, Mike Ditka to assist former NFL players with financial needs. He also has a special interest in the prevention of childhood athletic injuries and is an advocate of many childhood and adolescent injury preventing training programs.
