A West Point graduate, accomplished 7-year US Army Combat Veteran, turned double board-certified Family Medicine Physician with experience running a robust outpatient primary care practice, while simultaneously leading both hospice and rehabilitative services within a regional health care system who was selected as the 2023 Iowa Family Medicine Physician of the Year.My mission in clinical practice is to provide an experience for my patients. They will get an impassioned listener committed to meeting them where they are in life. Energy, excitement, humor, empathy, compassion, pragmatism, and rationality will be delivered daily as I will give everything I can day in and day out. I am experienced and skilled in Healthcare Performance Improvement, Information Technology, Operational Planning, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Intraarticular and Soft Tissue Injections, Sports Medicine, Well Child Care, Physicals, Healthy Lifestyle, and birth to end of life care. I am a recipient of US Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Achievement as a Platoon Leader and Minority Admissions Officer. Recipient of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine Dean’s Letter of Commendation for leadership, service, volunteerism, and achievement to the college. Inducted in the Legacy High School Wall of Honor for setting a positive example of leadership, community service, academic aptitude, and scholarly service to the youth of my hometown. Nominated for Physician EXCELLENCE at Great River for going above and beyond in patient care. Now, I serve AT Still University as a Trustee on the Board of Trustees as well as a Director of Student Medical Education for KCOM-ATSU.I will continue to empower my patients in the outpatient setting to greater health with a strong focus on healthy lifestyle, improved dietary habits, and daily physical exercise. Moreover, I will look to bolster Family Medicine and Primary Care to the forefront of medical care with evidence-based medicine and enthusiasm for pragmatic approaches. I will look to the future to continue teaching my patients and developing medical students, residents, and fellows. In my free time, I mentor aspiring and current medical students as well as participate in podcasts ranging from Veteran PTSD to osteopathic medicine. I continue to work with the Army Football Team to lend my experiences to the development of scholarly athletes. I have volunteered with Love Takes Root in Jacmel, Haiti to assist in caring for the orphanage and providing care.
