What I am most proud of about this position is my ability to give back and pass on my skill-set to students who are learning.As a professional TA, I assist medical students at Bastyr University California in open lab through setting up catheters and butterfly needles for injectable IV nutrients. In this class, I share the experience I've gained in IV's through troubleshooting catheter insertions, poking hard-to-locate veins and redirecting needle pokes. I also help students get more experience in making nutrient IV bags and vitamin pushes.

In this training, I surveyed commonly used nutritional IV therapies - I learned the rationale, indications and safety considerations for Vitamin, Mineral, Amino Acid, anti-microbial, anti and pro-oxidant therapies in their IV form. I also learned about integrating homeopathics, botanicals, compounded substances and prescriptive agents in IV therapies.Included in this training, I learned commonly used formulas and protocols and their respective merits as well. General IV therapy guidelines with special attention to patient safety were emphasized. I learned basic office procedures as well as assessment and intervention for IV related emergencies.I passed the certification examination administered, which is required to practice IV therapy.
