Born in Guam, Dr. Tim Verharen grew up in Tacoma and went to college at Seattle University. While attending dental school at Creighton University, he discovered that the mid-west has unsavory weather (not enough rain) and is sadly lacking sufficient water for boating activities. After dental school, he hurried back to the Northwest and became the first full time dentist at Peninsula Community Health Services where he served the community for seven years and built the program up to seven full time dentists. In 2004, Dr. Verharen acquired Dr. Waigren's practice and started Current Dental.Dr. Verharen loves serving his patients and sharing in their lives. He belies that to effectively help people achieve health, they must be inspired. He is the found and serves on the board for Service with a Smile, a non-profit program committed to providing dental care to qualified low-income adults in exchange for community service.Dr. Verharen lives with his wife Juli and two boys Dane and Connor on a quiet cove surrounded by cedar and Douglas fir trees; the perfect place for paddling kayaks and sailing small boats.
