I founded Therapeutic Activities Group CIC and I coordinate and deliver the therapeutic, early intervention the The Baxter Project.The Baxter Project aims to mitigate the long term impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Childhood Trauma and Toxic Stress on children and young people. We promote physical, emotional and social wellbeing through exercise, companionship and positive engagement. The Baxter Project works with schools to identify their pupils who are most 'as risk' of developing negative attitudes and behaviour and working with them to promote positive outcomes and positive change in their lives. What makes the project unique is its use of companion animals who are not only naturally therapeutic but also bridge communication and lower defences with young people, facilitating the conversations needed for successful relational work and eventual positive change.
