Doug Ellison has over 30 years of successful sales, marketing, new program development and executive management experience in the medical device industry encompassing minimally invasive technologies, oncology devices, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, electrophysiology, and structural heart. Currently, Doug is Chief Revenue Office at MicroTransponder. MicroTransponder's Paired VNS™ platform combines Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) and therapy, with the goal of improving quality of life for patients with chronic neurological conditions. The recently FDA-approved, LANCET publication Vivistim® System is designed to help patients regain their arm and hand motor function, several years after their stroke. Doug most recently served as National Director, Hybrid Therapies at AtriCure post acquisition of SentreHEART in 2019. Previously he was VP of Sales at SentreHEART for 11 years which was acquired by AtriCure. Prior to that, he was VP of WW Sales and Marketing for a public, bay area company, Cardica Inc. Cardica was an early staged, start-up company focusing on and developing anastomotic stapling devices used in coronary artery bypass grafting. Doug has served as a consultant in the medical device industry between acquisitions. His focus was on sales, marketing, and new business development with CardioVations, a division of Johnson and Johnson/Ethicon and Bard Biopsy System a division of C.R. Bard/Peripheral Division. Previously he served as the Vice President of Sales at Artemis Medical, Inc. 2001 to 2004. Prior to Artemis he was Sales Director at Heartport, Inc. from 1996 to 2001, and with Guidant Corp. for two years in sales and sales management including Southwestern Director of Vascular Intervention. He also served at Davol (C.R.Bard) in a variety of sales and sales management positions. His proven track record in the device industry includes among other accomplishments, 4 Representative of the Year awards and 3 Director of the Year awards. He was instrumental in the integration of the Guidant Vascular Interventional sales forces from the Eli Lilly Corp. and development of the broad Heartport franchise. He contributed in Heartport and Artemis reaching profitability and subsequent liquidity events. Mr. Ellison received his B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University.
