Mr. Dörwald has joined the company early 2011 and is advising its CEO on international Business. Prior to being appointed to this role, he was Vice President Asia for DKV, Munich Re Group. Being the head of DKV China, he also hold in addition responsibility for the development of business contacts in other Asian countries and the analysis and implementation of new business models.From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Dörwald was Director Insurance for an EU Project aimed at assisting the financial regulators of China with expertise and know how.He came to China in 1995 to set up offices for the Gerling Group in 1995 and secured an underwriting license for the company. Before that, Mr. Dörwald took part in an in-house training program in all industrial insurance classes and the company's German and foreign sales. He joined Gerling in 1989 in the area of international employee benefits.During these years in China, Mr. Dörwald was asked to speak at various conferences on a wide range of topics. Besides, he also served on the first EU WTO Project as a Member of its Steering Committee. He is a Founding Member of both the German Chamber and the European Chamber China as well as Founding Chairperson of the Insurance Working Group of the European Chamber in China.Mr. Dörwald grew up in Germany, studied at Bonn University and National Taiwan Normal University and currently resides in Beijing.
