Main task entails user support through training sessions and assisted use on many topics from sample preparation guidance to basic microscopy to advanced imaging techniques. Led the development and writing of the main training material provided to users that guides them from concepts in physics to how that information is practically applied to biology and photomicroscopy specifically. Responsible for maintaining advanced microscopy equipment and troubleshooting software and hardware issues. Responsible for interfacing with companies for timely repairs and quotes. Responsible for accurate record-keeping. Responsible for the general upkeep of our workspaces through regular cleaning and ordering supplies.

Consult with and quote customers upgraded equipment to enhance the quality of their existing investments. Provide experience and insight into how to grow this new department.

Tier 2 Product and Applications Support at the North American headquarters. I provide second-level support of our programs and products. I train customers over the phone and through email, utilizing remote sessions when necessary. Currently I am producing a series of YouTube videos that detail common troubleshooting techniques that we encounter; video provides a visual medium for conveying that seemingly-simple information, and the availability of YouTube means that the information is available 24/7, as our Support group is not open round the clock.

In charge of maintenance of a dedicated lab for the Biomed Photo department at RIT. Oversee general quality of lab, from scheduling employees to work in the lab and cleaning tables, to solving technical problems related to computer systems, microscopes, cameras, and other issues related to the work performed by the Biomed Photo major.

Summer internship with Zeiss. Worked under Rudi Rottenfusser to set up and maintain microscopes and computers at the Marine Biological Laboratories (MBL) in Woods Hole, MA.
