Kelly Doherty, Chief Executive Officer, Apperson, Inc.Kelly Doherty has a B.S. degree in Business from Santa Clara University. He is the youngest of nine children growing up in Portland, Oregon and attended Jesuit High School. He met his wife Thalia in college and they now reside in Playa del Rey, California where they raised their four children, Kendall, Morgan, Cailin and Conor. Professionally my greatest success has come in the last 18 years as President and CEO of Apperson, Inc. Our team successfully transitioned our company from a traditional business forms manufacturer to a data capture services business providing testing, assessment and survey solutions to Commercial and Education K-20 markets. In the last five years Apperson undertook the major initiatives of implementing an ERP solution replacing the legacy system in addition to establishing Product and Technical Development teams to design and build new on-line digital SaaS offerings related to academic and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) testing and assessment. In 2017 we spun off the SEL business into its own entity, Aperture, and we continue to invest in and grow this start up business within Education addressing the increasing challenges of social and emotional challenges of children in grades K-1 through K-12. In 2019 Apperson launched Character Tree, a SaaS subscription, offering 32 videos promoting positive characteristics to K-1 and K-2 teachers for instruction in the classroom. Both Aperture and Apperson have successfully adapted to current cloud-based technology both internally and externally. This experience in reinventing a company in the last five years came with many successes and failures related primarily to technology integration and new product market adoption. We stayed the course and the lessons learned have and will continue to guide us to future success.
