I am a key member of SunEdison's Australian Structured Finance/ProjectFinance team and I have responsibility for:(1) Residential and commercial solar financing pricing models; (2) supporting financial structuring and closing activities associated with permanent project financing; and (3) providing financial analysis and underwriting diligence for project origination and business development in Australia. My core functions include financial analysis, pro-forma modeling, scenario stressing, organizing and managing due diligence, contract negotiation support, and managing internal coordination efforts (including key financial metric tracking, covenant tracking, coordination with accounting, development, marketing, construction, and operations teams, etc).

The primary responsibility of the Corporate Strategy and Development business unit is to develop EnergyAustralia’s corporate strategy. The Corporate Strategy and Development team works to understand the competitive landscape; shares insights from domestic and international markets; and tracks emerging technologies and their potential benefit to the business. The team also supports the growth of our portfolio through mergers and acquisitions - providing the analytical, negotiation and due diligence expertise – as well as having responsibility for renewable and generation development opportunities.Primary functions of my role are:1. Commercial AnalysisProvision of highly robust and accurate analysis and development of clear and concise presentations and investment cases to support investment decisions for Business Development Projects. Projects are varied and include, acquisitions, divestments and development of various projects including, thermal and renewable opportunities as well as fuel opportunities2. Financial ModellingAdvanced Integrated DCF financial modelling including business valuations, project financing, feasibility and associated analysis.3. Deal SupportProvide support to effectively structure transactions (taking into account potential tax and accounting implications) and seek to effectively negotiate positive outcomes for Energy Australia.4. Project ManagementFacilitate and support the timely completion of Corporate Strategy & Development projects using standard Project Management techniques - guide projects through to both deal completion and thereafter integration into Energy Australia. 5. Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) commenced a programme in 1996 to automate the nation’s survey and title systems. The intent was to create a single, integrated electronic register that maintained the previously paper based information as intelligent records. This has been realised in the Landonline system, which began processing survey and title transactions in April 2000.Land Information New Zealand contracted EDS to convert historic survey data for the construction of Landonline. The areas selected contained 1.35 million parcels, or approximately 70% of the live parcels that constitute the New Zealand survey system.This work was divided into three parts: 1. The definition of a new datum to which the converted urvey will be adjusted; 2. The creation of a sufficient density of control in the conversion areas to gain a high degree of co-ordinate accuracy; and 3. The capture and adjustment of boundary and traverse data from current survey plans tied to the new control.EDS developed the specialist techniques and tools required for the accurate capture and adjustment of the network. EDS also developed all software tools required to perform specialist functions, tools which supported the work programme and drove efficiencies.As a Quality Control Analyst Michael worked at the data capture and adjustment stage. The Quality Control team used a number of specific tests to identify errors in preparation, or data capture of the parcels within each 'block'. Errors could also orginate from the source data. Members of the Quality Control team required some survey experience and exceptional problem solving capability. Included in the set of tests is the use of least- squares adjustments to highlight errors that were introduced at the data capture stage.
