MNOs/MEL/MQL Lab Header in SEA as a dispatcher from Mobile Division (HQ) Created MNO Labs with a goal of becoming Center for US & Canada Carriers App/Service App development and technical support. Extended and merged Tech Sales and QAs in SEA and increased the head counts up to 420+ Engineers in the area of Protocol, Mobile App/Service developments, Tech Sales, Technology Sourcing & Strategy and QA Engineers. Main functions of MNO Labs were to develop, test and commercialize US & Canada carrier’s service applications (HUX & VUX): On top of Google platform MNO Labs commercialized carrier apps such as VzW: 26 apps, ATT: 29 apps, TMO: 10 apps, Sprint: 29 apps, USC: 6 apps in USA and Bell South: 5 apps, Rogers: 5 apps, TELUS: 3 apps in Canada. In-parallel MNOs Lab actively had been engaged with major Carriers for their OTT service design, incubation and development such as VzW (App Flash and OATH) and ATT (Uverse) since 2015. MNO Lab also deeply engaged and contributed in the HQ trial projects as well as carrier requirements and their value added services trial projects in terms of technical evaluation and consulting purposes from design/coding/verification/Lab & Field Test to commercialization. MNO Lab participated and leaded trial projects such as CBRS, LAA, FOTA, VoWiFi, VOLTE, 4G, RCS, Single SKU, HPUE (SPRINT), Samsung RCS (MaaP, ATT), OATH, Uverse, Samsung Browser, Bixby (Trial and Carrier communications) and etc. This was Win-Win strategy between Samsung and Carriers who wanted to realize their services as differentiations on Samsung Products in-advance compare to the competitors. MEL Lab & MQL Lab leaded Project/Device compliances, approvals and local Quality Assurance (QA) were key contributors in terms of enhancing existing process and tools to provide on-time and best in class quality of the products to Carriers and Customers.
