Basic duties include office administration such as transcription, filing, shift work coordination, patient education, scheduling, and insurance correspondence. Successfully implemented and trained all staff on new electronic medical records and scheduling system. By implementing this new system I was able to design a digital filing structure that allowed for easier access to pertinent medical information for the doctors and staff, which in turn allowed for quicker communication times between our primary care practice and specialist offices for better organized patient care. Now that the system is set up I utilize my computer science and IT skills on a daily basis to provide in-house maintenance to the database as well as trouble shoot any issues. English as a second language teacher for Chinese foriegn exchange students. Basic duties included organization of field trips, grading homework and tests, and helping the full time teacher prepare lesson plans. I was able to provide a sensitive ear to the students who were living abroad for the first time here in Philadelphia. I helped counsel the students with any personal issues they had faced during their time away from home in a foreign country. During my time as an ESL teacher I helped the students build their English language skills, form lasting bonds with local children, and provided an environment where the students could pursue their own educational passions.
