My undergraduate and masters background is in mathematics, but my PhD work has been in computer science with a heavy emphasis on biological applications. My main research project is concentrated on big data analytics with a focus on applying graph algorithms to biological and health datasets. My work has included the use of high-performance computing, graph algorithmic tools, regression modeling, and Bayesian statistics to find latent relationships in graph networks that we create from large electronic health datasets. I love solving big complex problems and working on side projects such as Ramsey theory.
