Garden Villa Nursing Home is a long term care facility that assists older adults and individuals with disabilities who need 24-hour care and assistance. Garden Villa houses a general geriatric unit, a rehabilitation unit, and a dementia unit. As a Certified Nursing Assistant employed at Garden Villa, I have the privilege of assisting the residents of each of these three units in the activities of their daily living. -Perform all duties of a nursing assistant including hygiene care, feeding care, shower and toileting care, catheter care, perineal care, and all other basic care required per the needs of each resident-Emotionally support and uplift residents as they experience terminal illnesses, cope with dementia and mental issues, and strive to find a new sense of normality in their lives as a Garden Villa Resident-Answer all call-lights triggered by residents to assess any immediate issues (health issues and other personal issues) that arise in the lives of the residents and strive to patiently, empathetically, and effectively seek solutions to all resident issues-Work on a care team with physicians and nurses to discuss health information regarding each resident, assist in care documentation, and report unusual or concerning findings regarding resident health immediately-Support and uplift fellow medical professionals and residents through a sense of positivity, empathy, compassion, and humble listening so that the effectiveness of the care team can increase and that the emotional wellbeing of each resident can improve

The Tennessen Drosophila Research Lab is sponsored by the biology department of Indiana University Bloomington. Its focus is utilizing drosophila melanogaster to conduct cancer research, specifically via aerobic glycolysis. The lab has also branched out into other areas of metabolism and currently includes a precision toxicology project to study the effects of harmful chemicals including arsenic. As a part time employee of the lab and the undergraduate lab manager I assist in lab research while also supervising all undergraduate employees in their lab maintenance tasks. -Perform individualized experiments including an ovary dissection to assess the effects of arsenic on drosophila reproductive systems-Assist in large-scale precision toxocology experiments to assemble more data for the project-Oversee all undergraduate lab employee activities by creating schedules and instructional guides to all work activities and by assessing lab progress each week and assisting with lab maintenance as needed-Respond to the individualized needs of each lab graduate researcher to ensure that the lab is stocked with all necessary supplies and that all maintenance activities have been performed thoroughly-Support all undergraduate employees and lab researchers with their variable work schedules by empathizing with and listening to their concerns and by providing individualized assistance as needed

Residential Programs and Services (RPS) is responsible for all of the dining, mailing, and housing programs on Indiana University's campus. This large organization strives to satisfy the unique needs of every IU resident. It accomplishes this goal by improving the safety, mental health, and overall satisfaction of the students who live on campus. RPS uses RA's as its primary tool to enact these improvements. -Reach out to and support new students to ease their college transition and assist their personal growth-Supervise floor meetings and implement programs for 64 residents to help them build a sense of community-Partake in weekly, on-call duty shifts to supervise the residence hall and ensure student well-being and safety -Manage the Resource desk by logging packages, checking out equipment to residents, and providing support for the problems that residents voice at the desk

The Hutton Honors Council Association is an event planning, student-run committee within the Hutton Honors College at IU. The Association’s main goal is to increase a sense of community on campus by creating and running events that will bring students together. The association has a pyramidal structure in which there are around 15 executive board members who direct the association, around 30 leadership board members who direct individual councils, and around 100 other official body members who work in specific councils. As the Director of Finance, chief financial officer of the funding board, and director of student accounts, my main responsibilities are to oversee the entire Association, manage large, organization wide events, orchestrate the organizational funds for the HHCA, the Hutton Honors Funding Board, and all other Honors organizations on campus.-Orchestrate and Lead all HHCA activities and manage 170 council members with four other Co-Directors-Manage the HHCA budget by coordinating council funding and supervising large scale event funding -Prepared, advised for, and ran a philanthropic event that attracted over 80 participants and resulted in over 100 Holiday Cards for residents of BrookDale Senior Living Community in Bloomington-Oversaw the entire Hutton Honors budget, allocating funds to all honors organizations, and controlling over $80,000 in the Hutton Honors Funding Board account. -Interviewed over 100 applicants from the Hutton Honors College in order to personally select the members of each Campus Council in the HHCA for the 2019-2020 school year

IMU Catering is the largest catering service on IU's campus. This company is in charge of catering events all over campus, with a central focus on large events in the Indiana Memorial Union. Caterers must set and serve large and professional events in a variety of different locations all over campus. -Assisted in hosting large-scale, formal events that served full course meals to authority figures like the President of Indiana University in order to ensure that events ran smoothly and appropriately-Worked 20 hours per week while also balancing a 4.0 in the classroom and a leadership role in a student organization in order to fund college tuition-Prioritized engaging in uplifting and personable dialogue with event guests in order to ensure that their experiences were as fulfilling as possible

The Office of First Year Experience Programs is geared towards welcoming first year students to Indiana University and providing them with valuable resources that will dramatically improve their experience. Orientation Leaders play a very influential role in this mission to welcome incoming students and their guests. Orientation Leaders guide students and their guests through a two day orientation process. In this process, difficult topics like sexual assault and alcohol use are discussed. Additionally, students are able to tour the campus, schedule their classes, and meet other incoming freshmen. -Executed a formal, 40-minute long presentation to both students and their guests in order to inform them about campus resources-Facilitated the learning and engagement of over 8,000 new students by leading new students through a variety of activities that immersed them in IU culture and allowed them to develop community and student - student bonds-Discussed important campus issues including underaged drinking and sexual assault in order to promote the safety and well being of all IU students

At Knollwood Country Club, Golf Cart Attendants play an important role as the first individuals members meet when they arrive at the club and the last individuals members see before they leave. Golf Cart Attendants must form personal connections with members and also earn most of their salary through tips. -Engaged in one on one interactions with golfers to ensure that their experiences at the Country Club were as beneficial as possible-Worked over 60 hours per week (around 14 hours per day) between this position, another part time job, and a self-run lawn mowing business in order to fund college tuition-Catered to the needs of club members in order to improve their experience in any way possible

St. Patrick County Park is a large public park that is maintained by a small crew of employees. These employees must sustain the outdoor park environment while also cleaning buildings for indoor park events.-Supervised the park as the only employee on site in order to make sure that the park was clean and presentable for all visitors-Opened the park in the morning for new visitors and single-handedly cleaned buildings to prepare them for reserved park events-Worked over 60 hour weeks (14 hour days) between this position, another part-time job, and a self-run lawn mowing business in order to fund college tuition

The Hockey Stop Pro Shop is located in the same building as the large ice hockey arena: The Ice Box. This small Hockey Shop sells hockey equipment and gear while also performing specialized tasks like cutting sticks, sharpening skates, fitting equipment, and fixing equipment. -Managed the Hockey Shop as the only employee on staff by sharpening skates, selling hockey gear, and fixing broken equipment in order to make sure that hockey players were fully prepared for their games-Engaged in uplifting, respectful, and patient dialogue with customers in order to ensure that they received the best experience possible and that their last minute requests before their games were satisfied-Learned the skill of sharpening skates in order to fulfill the requests of Hockey Customers and enable them to play to their highest potential
