CurrentMonitoring Infrastructure - Track power distribution, cooling, and environmental conditions using monitoring tools. - Respond to alerts promptly to prevent downtime. - Perform visual inspections to identify potential issues.Routine Maintenance - Conduct regular server and infrastructure maintenance, including power cycling and reboots. - Replace aging hardware like drives and power supplies as needed. - Coordinate with vendors for repair and replacement.Troubleshooting and Incident Management - Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues, escalating when required. - Document incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement preventive actions.System and Network Administration - Configure and maintain servers, switches, and routers. - Manage backup systems and update firmware, drivers, and critical software. - Enforce access control and security protocols.Capacity Planning - Monitor server and storage utilization, planning for future capacity needs. - Support infrastructure upgrades, ensuring efficient resource allocation.Security and Compliance - Maintain physical security and adhere to cybersecurity protocols. - Conduct audits for compliance with data center standards, especially for ISO/IEC.Documentation and Reporting - Keep records of maintenance, incidents, and inventory. - Prepare regular reports on data center status and incidents. - Update standard operating procedures, network diagrams, and configurations.Client Support - Act as a point of contact for client requests and escalations. - Provide hands-on support, including racking and cabling for client servers. - Work with support teams to resolve client issues efficiently.Continuous Improvement - Participate in training on new technologies and best practices. - Suggest improvements for operational efficiency, such as automation. - Mentor junior technicians on troubleshooting and data center practices.
