I have recently gained myNEBOSH general certificate after sitting my test in early January. During my employment I have carried out varied roles giving me vast experience in several areas of the chemical industry. Starting form process operations I moved on to operational training in several units within the plant. I have also planned maintenance activities in conjunction with the production departments to minimise production downtime using all lean manufacturing principles.My main quality is an aptitude to work in a team environment. As a highly trained operator I have no hesitation in volunteering to utilise my skills in any unit within the plant and as a consequence this enables not only my team but other teams to benefit from my experience.I currently work in a synthesis unit in a control room environment and my duties include the preparation, monitoring and finalisation of complex processing operations. Additionally I am a ROSPA accredited risk assessor and issuing authority on our permit to work system.I have been involved in several projects site wide, including container management. I have also commissioned new plant equipment and writing up SOP’s and risk assessments in conjunction with COSSH and COMAH guidelines. I follow these actions up with configuring and rolling out all training required for new equipment within the unit. I have been involved in unit safety inspections where it was my responsibility to raise maintenance orders and ensure all safety maintenance work was complete and closed out within an agreed date.I have carried out several audits and preformed to role of lead auditor on varied locations within the manufacturing site to meet with ISO9001 standards.I was involved in Lean Manufacturing activities across the site educating and co-ordinating continuous improvement techniques including the implementation of Lean Methodologies and tools i.e. Kaizen Blitz, MIFA, OOE, SMED, Wrench Time and 5S My Area program.
