    As Director of Commissioning, I head up the Future Video Team, a department we put together in April 2022 to make video for Future’s 200+ brands.Key responsibilities are:• Liaising with brand stakeholders to determine what video needs making.• Commissioning and overseeing the production of that video, with final sign-off of films. • Managing resource to ensure the right areas of the business are receiving the correct level of video production support.In our first year we made over 1200 videos for over 50 brands and won the Team of The Year award at the Future 2022 Awards.

    In my 5 years at Barcroft Studios I managed the team that produced the content for Truly’s portfolio of short-form documentary series. Our hit digital shows included Born Different, Hooked On The Look, Dog Dynasty, Shake My Beauty and Love Don’t Judge, all of which racked up tens of millions of views a year. Our films were aimed at a young, diverse audience and told stories often overlooked by mainstream television.In 2021 alone, Born Different episodes had over 1.7 billion views, with Hooked On The Look not far behind on 1.3billion.From 2016 to 2021 our YouTube subscribers rose from 2 million to 9 million subscribers, an increase of 350%.Overseeing the production of all episodes of these series, my key responsibilities were…• Commissioning the episodes for all our digital series.• Overseeing the production of our documentaries, with final sign-off of all films.• Scheduling our episodes and series across key platforms including YouTube and Snapchat.• Overseeing, writing and signing-off headlines, thumbnails and tiles for key digital platforms.During this period our channel won a number of key industry awards, including the following Broadcast Digital Awards...Best Original Web Channel 2019Best Factual Channel 2019Best Original Web Channel 2017Judges said, “Creative innovation and fresh programming is reflected in Barcroft’s success.     In 1997 I was asked to help Editorial Director David Hepworth lead the launch team of Emap's first ever entertainment weekly - the magazine that would become the era-defining title, Heat. I assisted in all aspects of the launch and worked alongside three editors developing the product as Heat moved from the 'British Entertainment Weekly’ of its launch to the picture-led women’s weekly we know today. I won the Exclusive of The Year award at the 2001 Emap Awards for a Big Brother interview – a cover story that saw Heat break the 450,000 sales barrier for the first time.

As Editor I re-invented the magazine as a paparazzi-led teenage gossip title. It was an overhaul that was considered a big departure for both the magazine and the market, and was successful in halting the magazine’s sales decline.
