Led a diverse team of people to audit key company functions to maintain regulatory compliance in the area of quality assurance. Provide leadership and oversight to the quality assurance team supporting the Vogtle 3 & 4 nuclear plant construction. Member of the corporate functional area manager team to provide governance and oversight to the Southern.

Vogtle Nuclear Plant

Led three areas, emergency preparedness, licensing, and performance improvement. During my tenure, improved the station’s regulatory performance by developing and implementing a regulatory recovery plan; training the leaders and staff on fundamental NRC regulations; closed out an NRC white finding and two traditional level three findings; and improved.

Vogtle Nuclear Plant

Managed an $80M annual budget to develop and implement capital projects on Units 1 and 2. Dry cask storage, Fukushima modifications, security equipment upgrades, digital feedwater, digital radiation monitors, battery charger replacements, circulating water pump replacements, cybersecurity implementation, mechanical stress improvement, and support building.

Vogtle Nuclear Plant

Took on special assignment to lead a recovery team due to Plant Vogtle's declining performance. Using performance improvement techniques, daily management observations and key recovery metrics, my team worked with senior leadership to arrest the site's decline in performance and put the station on a journey to excellence. Led a cross functional team of.

Six years active duty (Navy nuclear power - submarines) and the balance in the Navy Reserve. Served as a Commanding Officer in 3 naval reserve units and as Executive Officer in 2 units. Retired as an O-6 as of 1 Jan 2011.

Responsible for seismic, environmental qualification, stress, fire protection and dry cask storage for the Southern Nuclear fleet. Also served as SNC liaison with EPRI. Received EPRI award.

Led and provided oversight for all non-destructive examination services in the SNC fleet. Member of group that produced industry paper on Alloy 600 impact to operating nuclear units.

Farley Nuclear Plant

Worked a year as a modifications engineer, a year as plant fire marshal (turned around plant performance in fire protection), and the remainder in training for a Senior Reactor Operator's license and working in Operations as shift support supervisor.

Worked procurement engineering and supply chain. Responsible for technical review and resolution of parts and services. Also responsible for reducing SNC inventory by selling obsolete equipment.
