In addition to my previous Supervisor responsibilities, I have taken on a Collections role and assist in the collections effort throughout the year. This includes internal and external reporting and follow ups to ensure we meet our targets for the year. I am also working on several software upgrading projects to keep our team updated with the latest legal accounting platforms available.

I was promoted at the new year to supervise the roles I had previously been assigned to. I now have 5 team members who I manage in the daily operations of accounting. I supervise monthly billing cycles, Accounts Payable with weekly check runs, and accounting for daily incoming wires and checks. I have also worked on the higher levels of budgeting and reporting for our business. Managing a team has been full of challenges, between balancing my own workload and the needs of team members, but I have learned many skills for working and dealing with people that will help me in my career.

I work for the law firm Gunderson Dettmer in the Accounting Department. As a Staff Accountant, I have performed a variety of task including invoice entry and employee reimbursements. I also account for incoming payments and bill reconciliation. I perform the main billing functions including creating and sending invoices to clients. I reconcile the 7 firm credit cards and monitor all charges. I manage and reconcile the firms Fedex accounts. I balance and monitor the firms books, creating journal entries as required. I reconcile the firm's bank accounts each month including our offices in New York, Boston, and San Diego. I use Citibank Online to monitor our accounts. I have been a major part of opening an international office in China. This job has really helped me expand my skill base while giving me good experience.
