About Dom Bonvissuto

My 22-year career in sports has stair-stepped from the humble beginnings of writing about high school wrestling to the global spotlight of coordinating editorial coverage of a half-dozen Super Bowls for a legacy media brand and the NFL’s own website. I also successfully pivoted mid-career into sports apparel and marketing, leading a fledgling company to rocket-ship revenue growth and establishing the brand’s identity on a national scale. Currently, I’m a senior editor at OutKick. I joined OutKick in August 2022 after spending the previous 4+ years as a contract editor for NBC Sports, where I worked with veteran NFL sportswriter Peter King on his signature Monday column, Football Morning In America.Previously, I was director of marketing for BreakingT, a moment-driven sports apparel company. I was the fourth full-time employee, helping lead 30x revenue growth in four years and establishing a national identity for the brand. Before joining BreakingT, I worked as an editor at Sports Illustrated’s pro football vertical, The MMQB. While there, I wrote a popular Football Lifestyle column and helped SI earn its first affiliate marketing revenue through editorial content. I learned the affiliate marketing business through my own men’s lifestyle site, Jeans & Ties, a passion project I led for four years.Prior to that, I spent two years as Senior Editor at NFL Media in Los Angeles, leading the original content team at the league’s website, NFL.com. I led on-site coverage of two Super Bowls, two NFL Drafts and two Scouting Combines, and brought long-form stories to the site for the first time.My national sports media career began at Sports Illustrated, first at its nights-and-weekend desk in Atlanta before eventually moving to the main newsroom in New York City. As lead NFL senior producer, I led award-winning news and feature coverage for the site’s most trafficked section and worked with groundbreaking NFL writers Peter King, Paul Zimmerman, Don Banks and others. After graduating college, my first real job was at The City Paper, a scrappy startup daily newspaper in Nashville. I began as a High School Sportswriter, eventually being promoted to Assistant Sports Editor and then Sports Editor over my five years there.
