In this role, I advance the work of Right To Play (RTP) by ensuring children and youth use the power of play to strengthen protective factors and achieve psychosocial wellbeing. I provide strategic and technical leadership to guide the effective integration and achievement of our child protection and psychosocial support outcomes across RTP’s programs. My responsibilities include:- Designing and managing child protection and PSS strategies, aligning with global standards and organizational goals.- Offering technical guidance and collaborating with specialists to integrate child protection and PSS into program design, toolkits, and quality assurance processes.- Developing new program models and revising existing ones to address the protection and psychosocial needs of children.- Leading capacity-building initiatives, including technical trainings, mentorship, and facilitating CP and PSS working groups and communities of practice.- Supporting knowledge sharing and quality programming through ongoing collaboration with country offices and global teams.- Representing Right To Play in global networks and partnerships, contributing to thought leadership, and promoting innovative approaches to child protection and PSS.- Driving innovation in program design by incorporating evidence-based practices and learning from global programs.- Collaborating with Country Offices to document learnings, establish quality assurance mechanisms, and report on the delivery of strategic goals.- Ensuring the integration of child participation and protection considerations within monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) approaches.

This incorporates responding to Child Protection needs and Gender-Based Violence in humanitarian contexts globally.This is a pivotal post where, on top of protection interventions, I boosted multi-sectorial approaches across a range of humanitarian contexts, as well as supporting the scale-up of Plan International UK’s Humanitarian work by ensuring effective programme design and implementation in collaboration with the humanitarian unit and colleagues globally.

As a Deployable Advisor for Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE), I contribute to realizing the team’s growth ambitions through enhanced expertise in CPiE and gender-based violence (GBV) programming. I am part of the internal roster and a member of Plan International's surge capacity team. I support the scale-up of emergency work in some of the most vulnerable and fragile contexts. Between deployments, I work on specific desk-based tasks for Plan International, like tool development, proposal development, reports, training courses, and in back-office support building Protection Capacity of specific countries (Nigeria, Somalia, Philippines). In my role, I manage a complex multi-country portfolio, and I worked in long-term physical missions in Rohingya Response (Cox’s Bazar – Bangladesh), South Sudan Complex Emergency (Juba, Nimule), Venezuela Regional Response (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru), South Sudanese Refugee Response (Kampala, Arua – Uganda), Northern Ethiopia Response (Addis Ababa – Ethiopia), Cyclone response (Nampula and Maputo - Mozambique) and Ukraine Refugee Response (Moldova). I represent Plan International in the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action, particularly in the Child Labour Task Force, the Child Protection Minimum Standard Working Group, and the Learning and Development Working Group.

As a Program Specialist for Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE), I supported the development of Plan International’s disasters and emergencies portfolio as part of the Disaster Risk Management Unit, with particular responsibility for ensuring the promotion and integration of Child Protection in Emergencies, and a particular focus on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response across the DRMU active programs. I ensured effective program design and implementation of CPiE and GBViE responses in rapid onset as well as in situations of protracted crisis. I supported Plan International’s Country Offices’ response to specific humanitarian crises, particularly those that require scaling up. This involved deploying (often at short notice and up to 60% of the time) to Country Offices and included proposal development and program management of humanitarian funding for Plan International UK. I ensured the promotion and integration of CPiE and GBViE across the DRMU program portfolio, including programming that addresses disaster risk and strengthening community resilience and raising the profile of the organization as a humanitarian CPiE actor.

In the Unaccompanied Children Program (UAC), I was responsible for the overall operation of Safe Zone (SZ) and for advising and guiding the staff in emergency situations. Managing a complex portfolio and a Team of 30 members (Team Leaders, Caregivers, Social Workers, Psychologist, Legal Advisors, and Cultural Mediators) working 24/7 in Eleonas camp.

I set up the IRC’s Safe Healing Learning Space (SHLS) program in three refugee camps in Northern Greece and Attika, overseeing its running at field level and managing 3 teams of 11 staff (Cherso Camp), 15 staff (Alexandria Camp) and 6 staff (Elaionas Camp) composed by social workers, cultural mediators, and community facilitators.

I was in charge of Design, implementation, coordination, and management of national and international projects funded by the European Commission and by other private and public funding bodies. I assisted the exchange between different cultures, migrants, and minorities, enhancing Mobility Activism and Education for youngsters. I was directly managing a team of 24 international volunteers under the European Voluntary Service (EVS) and Solidarity Corps programs and 6 local and international Volunteers under the Leonardo da Vinci Program (European Commission Fund.)

Domina Viaggi Evento is an international tour operator and my job was to lead incentives for companies, school camps with teenagers and children, or family adventures in the different cities of Italy and Europe.On one side the Job was regarding the culture, the history of art, and tourism in general, on the other side, I was in charge of the Educational activities and of the training Area organizing and facilitating activities through Non-Formal Education methods. In this way, Domina could offer to schools and companies an experience of discovering new destinations and - at the same time - a moment of team building or team working for the personal development of the employers or the classmates as well.

“La Casa di Kim”, is a center for terminally ill children or with serious health problems. My responsibility was facilitating the integration of the children. The children arrive from all over the world and the main aim of my project was to give them the chance for integration into a new cultural and social setting. I used different types of methodology (theater, fairy-tale, handmade laboratory, role game, etc.) to support them in their personal development ad and in enabling them to socialize and interact with others in a comfortable space for sharing their values and cultures.
