Molecular Biologist
CurrentIn my current role, I am responsible for the serology section of the Clinical Microbiology department. This includes the testing, verification and introduction of new diagnostic tools, quality control and accreditation of diagnostic methods, as well as modernization and automation for more time and cost efficient analyses. I am additionally developing automated analysis techniques using both hardware and software (R/excel) tooling and diagnostics tools based on next generation sequencing in collaboration with Umeå University as part of the national “Pandemic Preparedness” project. I also seek active collaboration with private companies to develop and test new assays. This role goes beyond laboratory and analytical techniques and includes supervision and training of staff for the entire department. All work is done within national and EU regulatory frameworks, e.g. new CE/IVDR guidelines and procurements. I am also a Member of the Swedish Society for Microbiology and the Swedish Society for Virology and actively partake in conferences and meetings.
