Responsible for all programs involving Legacy Platforms at GMB, such as Vectra, Vectra GT, Astra, Zafira, S-10, Blazer, Celta, Prisma, Corsa, Meriva, and Classic.

Responsible for reduce cost and weight reduction, improving process, developing new materials, using new techniques, etc, in commodities such as Interior, Exterior, Structure and Materials in general. This responsibility embraces all GM current Product line-up, like, Agile, Prisma, Zafira, Celta, Astra, Vectra, Vectra GT, Corsa, Meriva, Classic, S-10, Blazer and Montana.

Responsible to develop all programs regarding S-10 & Blazer platforms, having as support Product Engineering Design departments. This responsibility includes developing, testing, validating and delivering the program to the correspondent plant where it will be manufactured, with no problems, on timing and into the initial budget. In this function, I represented Product Engineering in all multidisciplinary forums and meetings regarding the program.

In mid of 1997, I moved to the USA (GMNA) as part of Yellowstone Team, to implement lean engineering together with lean manufacturing in Greenfields (brand new plants) in North America.I was part of NAPC - North American Project Center, generating several lean concepts. All these concepts were implemented in Lansing Grand River Plant (Cadillac CTS & STS), Delta Grand River Plant (SUV) and Shreveport (medium pickups).

In 1995, I was nominated as Vehicle Chief Engineer of new program called Blue Macaw (Prog 4000), that today is the worldwide well known Celta, benchmarking for several plants of GM and competitors around the globe.This program was a paradigm breaker into how to develop a new car, a new plant and new processes in how to build a vehicle, never used in the entire world in this dimension before. Responsible for specifying technically CKD packages to our foreign clients, obeying their requirements and needs, like localization part programs, and sometimes developing and validating specific parts to their markets.

I lived 2 years in Germany working in the program T3000 (current Astra in Brazil), as Product Engineering representative in Opel's team, being responsible to introduce Brazilian requirements in the new program.

I was the CKD Coordinator for all LAAM countries - Uruguay, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Phillipines, Colombia, etc, embracing all GM product line up, such as Chevette, Monza and Pick-ups. In this mission, I was responsible to keep our clients production lines running with no problem, such as part shortages, part damaged, wrong parts, etc.

Responsible for project analysis in order to adequate them to all requirements of the Brazilian legislation, such as noise, polution, illumination, ventilation, ergonomy, etc. The most important program I was involved at that time was the Monza Program, when the São Caetano do Sul plant was completely modified.

From Jan thru Dec 1977, I was a trainee in the Safety & Industrial Hygiene Department at São José dos Campos plant.I was hired by GM on Dec 1977 in the same area I had been worked since January.As part of a team, I was responsible for the entire plant of GM São José dos Campos (around 10,000 workers), taking care of workers health thru Industrial Hygiene mandates.
