Working as Port Engineer, Namely in the Aramco field. Did many vessels as Chief Engineer as it's Part of the job. It's fun as its sheer Joy to see my fleet of vessels being Maintained and kept in Operation.

(4 1/2 months Total Sailing time ) AHTS 120T BP, DP1 Vessels ( 23.11 months Total Sailing time ), 3 trips on URJA, 2 trips on Kundan & PAWAN. The ship had 2 WARTSILA W8L32, 4000KW each @ 750 RPM. Twin props CPP with Reduction Gear and MARELLI Shaft Generators 1800KW each. 2 nos. Generators, VOLVO PENTA 250KW @ 1800RPM. 3 nos. WARTSILA CT 150 TUNNEL THRUSTERS, 589KW @ 1780 RPM.Towing Winch : Make ;BRATTVAAG TYPE : L 300W/BSL 300W , Drum Dimensions :One Declutchable Towing Drum - 900 mm Dia x 2650 mm Dia x 1800 mm , One Declutchable Anchor Handling Drum - 900 mm Dia x 2650 mm Dia x 1800 mmThe Vessel was equipped with Fifi fire fighting system, Cargo pumps for Drill water, Fresh water, Fuel oil, Cement and Barite discharge. Chief Engineer, L J Johnson and KD Malaviya were OSV DP1 Vessels. Just a year old and so it was a challenge to work on them. Vsl had 2 Yanmar 6EY26 Main engines with total BHP 5100, Twin props CPP with Reduction Gear and Shaft Generators 900 KWs each. 2 nos. LINDENBERG Generators of 280 KW’s each. The PMS sys for Power requirements. Automatically though there were difficulties at times, we did system load sharing Manually. New ship challenges are fun. 3 nos. ULSTEIN, NORWAY Thrusters of 501 BHP/ 380 KW. Equipped with a Fifi System, 2 Nos. fire-fighting pump type SFP 250x350 XP, 1500 m3h and MacGregor Bulk Handling system for Cement and Barite. Show less

Just Loved working on MV Doulos and MV Logos 2, Enjoyed everyday on them, Did so many Dry Docks, These ships were constantly Upgraded to fit changing class requirements for Passenger ships. Liked Training and teaching on the job. Engineers and watch keepers. GBA is special and the crowd, Family like, out there it's a unique Passenger Ship . It was a blessing to serve the Ships and the world. Sailing as a Marine Engineer Since Feb 1989. Loved Tankers , but sailing on the Passenger ships Doulos and Logos was Unique. The Crew was lovely to work with . Working Long hours on Maintenance of the ship never was an Issue as people loved it. . Worked with an excellent team .The ship was a Passenger ship from the Cruise industry , 98 years old but in a very good condiion. Prior to that I worked on Oil Tankers with Shell Ship management UK.
