Leader - I have always been a natural born leader, from my experiences to leading a team of people in high school robotics, to my more professional experience of leading workers during an abatement job. I have been able to develop my skills as a leader and had tough decisions to make on worksites. For example, if someone isn't wearing a respirator on site the worker is putting their own life at risk. I have had to make the decision to send people home from a site before, which sometimes doesn't go over well with a client, but I would never put getting a job done faster over the safety of a worker.Fast Learner - Being able to learn and adapt to new environments quickly is one of the most important skills a person can have as the world around us constantly changes. In my former job as an analyst and abatement supervisor I was forced to learn the tools of the trade quickly. Currently as a Student Supervisor I am forced to adapt constantly as people don't come to work due to COVID-19. This can lead to stressful moments, but I am proud to say that under my supervision, we've made it through every shift and will continue to do so.Outgoing - Most people I know would describe me as outgoing. Friends, co-workers, and former teachers would all say the same, but my skills have been tested before. As a supervisor it is more important to get the job done than to be friends with the people working under you. But it's also important to maintain a good working relationship with everybody and be well liked so they will want to do what you ask of them. Due to how outgoing my personality is, I'd like to have an internship at a smaller business where I can get to know each person I'm working with.
