Team Lead on multiple cross-functional Project Development Teams (PDTs)• Led PDTs to develop and execute strategies to advance candidates through established stage-gates (from Discovery to IND) and ensure project deliverables are met on time and on budget.• Managed and communicated program strategies, required resources, risks, and timelines to Senior Management.• Initiated and managed collaborations with partners in academia, biotech, and pharma to evaluate platform technologies for entrance into Aeras’ pipeline.• Led multiple key programs, including recombinant CMV, monoclonal antibody, and live-attenuated whole cell vaccine-based projects.• Received the Aeras IMPACT Award for Leadership (2018)Managed or delegated responsibility for over 125 pre-clinical studies, performed in-house or under contract, to generate critical data to inform decisions on vaccine candidate advancement.• Studies include immunogenicity, efficacy (BSL3), safety, GLP toxicology, and animal model development• Collaborated with leading experts to devise strategies for biomarker discovery using both focused and systems immunology assays supporting optimization of vaccine platforms and approaches • Evaluated a variety of platforms, including viral vectors, nucleic acid vaccines, protein/adjuvant vaccines, whole cell mycobacterial vaccines, and polysaccharide conjugate vaccines.Co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Collaboration for Tuberculosis Vaccine Discovery Nonhuman Primate Research Community (December 2016 – September 2018).
