As a certified medical assistant at Eastern Virginia Medical School, I work with surgeons and nurses in various specialties, such as general surgery, acute care surgery, trauma surgery, and surgical oncology. I assist with patient care, documentation, and communication, as well as perform clinical tasks such as vital signs, wound care, and specimen collection. I enjoy being part of a dynamic and collaborative team that delivers high-quality and compassionate care to patients.I am also a student at the University of Virginia, where I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in health sciences management. My goal is to apply to medical school and become a doctor who can combine clinical expertise, administrative skills, and public health knowledge to address health inequities and improve health outcomes. To prepare for this career path, I have acquired multiple certifications, such as certified pharmacy technician (CPhT) and immunization administration certificate, and gained experience in various pharmacy settings, from retail to primary care. Additionally, I serve as the chair and CEO of the Care Foundation, a nonprofit organization that educates and empowers health professionals and citizens to achieve better overall health. Through these roles, I have developed skills in population health management, patient advocacy, and patient education, as well as a passion for the art of healing.
