Supervised 7 Work-study students in addition to managing the work-study program consisting of approximately 100 students.Instructed individuals in career development techniques such as their internship/job search and application strategies, resume and cover letter writing, and interview skills.Scheduled and facilitated workshops to guide students through the internship application process, conducting a general internship/employment job search, and preparing for interviews. Interviewed students to obtain information about employment history, educational background, and career goals, and to identify barriers to employment. Doubled number of students that completed the internship course from Spring 2004 to Summer 2006. Planned and promoted career and employment-related events and programs such as the semi-annual career fair, the annual transfer fair, the FWS Program, the Internship Program, the ICC Program and ongoing workshops throughout the semester. Prepared students for later educational experiences by encouraging them to transfer to four-year programs. Generated and maintained relationships with employers who offer both internship and general employment positions including their attendance at the college's career events. Leveraged relationships with employers to bring appropriate speakers to campus to address: retention, career mindedness and financial literacy.
