Contributing to Glencore’s portfolio of copper assets, Ernest Henry Mining (EHM) is an underground copper and gold mining and processing operation located near Cloncurry in north west Queensland, Australia. EHM commenced commercial production in 1998 as an open pit mine and then in 2009, transitioned operations to underground shaft mining. In 2014 EHM celebrated the beginning of hoisting operations from their new kilometre-deep underground shaft. Mined ore is processed at their on-site concentrator and concentrate is transported by road to Glencore’s copper smelter in Mount Isa for smelting to anode.Responsibilities included:- Resourcing, supervising and co-ordinating a process commissioning team including six metallurgists and one process control and automation engineer to effectively commission a magnetite regrind circuit- Leading a team of four metallurgists through the process of debottlenecking and optimising a magnetite extraction circuit- Managing budgets, forward budget planning and financial reporting systems.Achievements included:- Resourced and developed a team that commissioned, debottlenecked and optimised a magnetite extraction and regrind circuit achieving plant design production rate within six months of commissioning- Co-ordinated on-site engineering, maintenance and operational resources to procure, refurbish and install a PSI500 realising a $250,000 cost saving- Zero injuries or incidents within Magnetite Metallurgy team since commencement of tenure - 90 days including regrind circuit commissioning

Responsibilities included:- Commissioning, debottlenecking and optimising a magnetite extraction circuit- Coordinating the logistics value chain from mining to port - Ensuring operational readiness of new magnetite extraction circuitAchievements included:- Implemented operational readiness items for magnetite extraction circuit- Developed an internal system allowing the production team to voice concerns associated with the construction and operation of the new magnetite plant- Detected and rectified isolation inconsistencies with the EHM ISAMill installation
