While at St. Catherine’s College, I was elected to the JCR Committee as the Access Representative of the student body for the 2021-22 year, in a voluntary capacity. My role involved widening access to Oxford for school students where I could, and I also helped out as a student ambassador. In the former role, I worked with high-school students from years 8 through 12 in an outreach capacity, as well as college open days with families and parents. I gave tours of the College, answered any questions, and worked with them on helping their children access university. Assisted with college admissions program by speaking to prospective students regarding their upcoming interviews.Provided both technological and interview-specific advice to answer any questions and solve any problems students would have while paying attention to safeguarding protocol and the college’s own guidelines.

I worked as casual staff at St. Catherine’s College during term-time as a student staff member and then in holidays as casual staff. I primarily worked in the dining hall as a member of service staff, but also worked in the operations department and for the bar manager.Key duties included:• As hall staff, I was responsible for food services as part of a small team for up to 500+ conference guests in a premium ‘black and white’ service. Outside of service hours, I would assist with logistics and food handling, supply deliveries, and cleaning.• Operations work in particular included tea and coffee receptions for up to 200+ guests as well as light lunch buffet services. In addition, manual handling of boxes, tables, and chairs was regularly required for room preparation in advance of services.• In terms of bar work, I was part of a small bar team doing seated wine service at a dinner of 500+ and then subsequent bar service for the guests into the early morning, including cocktail service. It was a frenetic fast-paced bar environment, where I was also responsible for keeping the workspace tidy and floor dry in accordance with health and safety regulations.

I worked for BBC Sport as a freelance production runner for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. My hours were split between office hours, particularly in the early stages of the Games, assisting with office administration including Excel spreadsheets and miscellaneous projects, and then especially later on I was based in the live studio setup in the city centre assisting there.My key responsibilities included: • Assistance of studio and office teams where required, including broadcast operation in a live studio environment as well as outside broadcasts with a live camera crew.• I assisted security teams where necessary by escorting talent to and from their hotels and shoot locations.• Further responsibilities included research, manual handling, administrative assistance, and using initiative to ensure the studio space operated smoothly, for instance, organising food deliveries and pickups for talent, cleaning the studio space, and topping up the fridge in the green room.

I freelanced for BLAST.tv, formerly known as BLAST Pro Series, for the production of their 2020 Spring Showdown series of esports events. These events were broadcasted online to millions of viewers, with grand final events amassing thousands of spectators in live arenas. My role was remote.My key responsibilities included:• As a junior, I was initially given limited responsibilities. I would be given spreadsheets and documents on Google Drive which contained planning for the broadcasts, and the ‘storylines’ of the event was going to revolve around. My role was to research statistics and anecdotes related to matches, teams, and players in the event. I would put these into a short sentence format which would then be displayed in the lower third of the broadcast screen during desk analysis between matches and replay VODs during matches.• I was required to watch along with all of the event as it happened, which included night-time hours while working on events held in the Americas. • As I progressed in my role, I was tasked with the responsibility of pitching the wider storylines of the event to my line manager, who would then review my suggestions before I was then able to work on the shorter anecdotes as I originally had done.
