Greater Seattle Area

I manage incidents that occur on roadways and notify respondents of verified blocking incidents on camera. I provide current traffic information to the public via Twitter and daily traffic reports to our team so that we can improve the roadways of Seattle.~~~~~~IMPACT~~~~~~By finding incidents on camera and notifying response team, I'm able to provide aid to collisions, clean up the roadways, and mitigate the effects of traffic. In addition, by communicating with Metro, buses can be rerouted by knowing where a road is blocked.

Orlando, Florida Area

I supervised the overnight traffic operators by making sure the information provided in their events was correct. I also assisted the traffic operators by making sure the proper personnel were notified, in order to mitigate the effects of a traffic collision. ~~~~~~IMPACT~~~~~~Incident response time to traffic incidents was reduced through the use of traffic monitoring software and notifying the proper personnel. Our team would find the location of an incident and send out the response team responsible for the designated roadway.I provided training, support, and leadership to our overnight team. I made sure our traffic operators understood the incident response process, in order to perform the job correctly.

I managed traffic events and congestion by using traffic monitoring software and devices. I would find the incidents on camera and use the software to identify how much congestion the event caused. I also provided daily and weekly statistical reports of traffic volume and vehicle speeds on roadways. ~~~~~~IMPACT~~~~~~The effectiveness of signal timing of arterial roadways was increased by understanding which roadways had higher traffic volume and lower vehicle speeds. New traffic software systems were placed in highly congested areas, in order to improve the quality of the traffic data collected.
