Lead the Florida Agency of State Technology Cloud readiness assessment initiative. Working with the agency CTO under direction of the Florida legislature I managed a team of cloud technology engineers to analyze over 900 applications across 43 state agencies. Performing in-depth application discovery and dependency interviews with each of the state agencies technology groups. Including documentation and analysis to determine each application’s readiness to be migrated to the cloud. Utilized “wire data” analysis tool (ExtraHop), and latency emulation tool (WANEM) to collect application activity, dependencies and metrics to compare performance latency between Internal hosting vs. Cloud hosting. Published public cloud provider RFP and obtained and evaluated information from hundreds of cloud service providers to understand and provide a range of options. Utilized Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, Compute, Storage, Database, Networking, Developer Tools, and Security services and containers) to conduct POC across a range of state agency applications and platforms. Provided future-state cloud architecture recommendation and implementation approach for each application and platform for all agencies.
