I've been a Kamloops resident since 1975 and successfully managed my own consulting business for almost 21 years before moving to my current position at Woodland Equipment Inc. My education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an HR concentration, a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting, Dale Carnegie Leadership training, Train the Trainer certification, and I am currently enrolled in the BCCPA PREP program for accounting.

May 2015 - PresentKamloopsI was recruited to a full-time position with Woodland Equipment in the spring of 2015 after having provided contract services (under TQM) for many years. My role at Woodland is multi-faceted and ever-expanding. Currently I am responsible for our human resources functions including recruitment, personnel policy development, ensuring compliance with all relevant labour laws and regulations, managing employee files, and assisting with employee health and wellness. I also manage the company's payroll and am responsible for administering the company's benefit plan. In addition to my HR-focused responsibilities, I am an assistant to the company's Controller and look after many of the company's banking functions including deposits, EFT and wire transfers, cash flow forecast management, and assisting with receivables.

During that time I built and expanded my practice into a variety of areas which included HR consulting, management of government-funded employment services, provision of bookkeeping services to entrepreneurs and small not-for-profits, and training services in entrepreneurship, human resource management, and career planning. Over the years I employed work teams ranging from one person to 40 people, managed government funding budgets in the $3 to $5M range, and provided direct services to over 200 local employers and thousands of individuals through my consulting and training services. Although I have not officially 'closed' TQM (I still have a few bookkeeping clients and take on the occasional training contract), I am proud of my accomplishments but have moved on to new adventures with Woodland Equipment Inc. -

Our contract ended in the spring of 2012 and we chose not to bid on the new BC Employment Services Centres contract. The new Work BC Centres in Kamloops are managed by our friends and colleagues at Open Door Group, and are now the administrators of the wage subsidy service.
