Snowflake/Taylor CERT, Snowflake/Taylor Arizona, 06/2013-01/2017Program Manager/Trainer /PIOAs a program manager for the all-volunteer Snowflake/Taylor CERT (S/TCERT) organization and as a team trainer/instructor, my duties consisted of in part identifying and periodically re-evaluating and in general managing the emergency preparedness and training needs for the S/TCERT organization as a whole. I regularly developed, prepared and conducted presentations, FEMA ICS trainings, situational table-tops, and ongoing training for both existing and new team members. I assisted in developing and preparing a wide variety of the programs operational documents including a re-write of the S/TCERT By-Laws and SOP’s. As part of my duties I represented the S/T CERT team at the counties monthly Citizen Corps Council meetings. As the organizations PIO I served as the primary contact with the public when recruiting team membership, presenting trainings, and general organization information. As a member of the S/TCERT I regularly participated in call outs to assist the emergency services professionals including a wide variety of direct and indirect support. I assisted in the CERT program’s public relations, public information outreach via newspaper ads, radio spots, and administration of the S/TCERT face book page. I conducted numerous and ongoing public presentations and promotions of CERT information to the general public to stimulate interest in community and individual disaster preparedness and team membership. In general normal duties included recruiting, instructing and training a stable group of knowledgeable and experienced volunteers to serve as the backbone for volunteer emergency services to and for the Snowflake/Taylor Arizona communities.

Northland Pioneer College is a highly ranked community college always on the edge of innovation. Employed at NPC since 2003, I grew within the organization first starting as an Adjunct Faculty member to overseeing its student outreach/marketing and recruiting department. I proactively and systemically designed and implemented new college-wide recruitment and retention initiatives to increase and maintain enrollment. In addition I also served as the institutions International Students Services and compliance officer/registrar. This entailed all aspects of international student registration and SEVIS data entry and operations. Typical daily duties included working with a demographically and ethnically diverse population of students, administrators, faculty, staff, and the general public. With a solid Human Resource background, I provided progressive PR, recruiting, advising, and management techniques that led to increased student success, retention, and completion. My normal duties also included , but not limited to, Public Outreach, Student Recruitment, Admissions, Student Advisement and data entry within the JENZABAR CX student information system, Financial Aid, Testing Services, Transfer Services, and of course Community Outreach. I designed and implemented several new recruitment programs and tracking databases through the Jenzabar system that not only substantially contributed to recruitment, enrollment and retention, but also supported NPC’s long standing goals of continuously improving the services and educational opportunities for the community. While supervising a recruitment staff of two, I performed a wide variety of integrated duties including general recruitment, academic advising, public speaking, and representing the college publicly through numerous impromptu and annual events and presentations.
