Duties included testing and evaluation of vendor equipment for placement in the network for monitoring and maintaining a High Availability (HA) network. Interfaced with management to make purchase recommendations and suggestions within the LAN/WAN environment while staying within budgetary constraints. Setup, configured, and monitored network resources with a combination of software vendors for redundancy such as HP Openview, ProactiveNet, What's up Gold, and NetCool from Micromuse software. Evaluated and purchased components for a complete Network Operations Facility configuration including furniture, projection systems, power requirements, staffing and scheduling of NOC. Duties included, but were not limited to, maintaining scheduling for employees, composing processes and implementing procedures to ensure a secure environment for customers.
