Duties include performing civil and mechanical engineering designs and supervision for plant equipment upgrades and maintenance, planning and supervision of hydro generation unit overhauls, including pump back units, budget planning and management of capital jobs. Major responsibilities include the management, planning, and organization of several departments within the company to perform major lake drawdown activities for equipment inspection and repairs that are accomplished on a 20 year interval. Conduct business with federal agencies to perform work at sites within federal lands and to perform the work within the federal constraints involving land and wildlife issues. Engineer in charge of the restoration of a dam facility on National Forest land to meet safe operating abilities that SRP acquired.
Job duties at an oil and gas fired electrical generation station included civil and mechanical engineering support for operation and maintenance of the units. Work specialization in performance testing of units and specific equipment, design and supervision for plant equipment upgrade and performance improvements projects. Responsibilities included working with internal departments and external contractors at the site. Other duties include planning of major unit overhauls dealing with Steam Turbine upgrades/repairs, plant's annual budget, management of station water systems, and welding inspector for ASME code projects. Duties as Owner-User Inspector included the review of plant welding program and annual State inspections of boilers.
Worked on various engineering betterment jobs at all of the sites on the Salt and Verde River Systems. Major area of work was on betterment projects of the Salt and Verde Dam Sites.
