Springerville Generating Station

SRP Liaison over Springerville Generating Station, Unit 4. Duties included oversight of all areas of Unit 4 operation and monitoring of operations and maintenance of Unit by 3rd party company.

Assigned to Management of the QA/QC department and Lead Engineer on the Turbine/Generator and Boiler procurement/installation of a 450 MW Coal Fired Unit; Job duties includes the Supervision of the QA/QC Department and managing all aspects of construction from Design Phase to Construction. Responsibilities include: *Develops employees through development, counseling, goal setting, training, performance reviews, and salary administration.*Directs and oversees the preparation, review and approval of the Architect Engineer's design and engineering, with contribution to the development of all material, equipment, systems and construction contract specifications.*Supervises the assigned engineer's review of bid proposals, ensures proposal's conformance to the technical requirements of the contract and reviews Management Approval to Award letters.*Directs the technical support of vendor transmittal reviews, engineering interdisciplinary reviews and engineering design change requests for the various equipment procurement and construction packages from award thru completion and startup. *Directs and reviews the preparation of reports, documents, vendor instructions, technical support requests, etc. associated with large construction projects as assigned.*Develops and implements project Quality Assurance / Quality Control programs and responsible for the administration of the QA/QC team members.*Review, recommend, and approve qualified bidders.*Prepare assigned Management Approval to Award Letters.*Ensure contractor conforms to the technical requirements of the contract.*Schedule and facilitate meetings.*Develop cash flows/budgets for the contracts.*Prepare, issue, and record Vendor Information Requests (VI) and Change Orders (CO).*Review, recommend, and approve invoices.*Development of quality assurance protocol for each contract.*Ensure project QA/QC procedures are followed.

Duties include performing civil and mechanical engineering designs and supervision for plant equipment upgrades and maintenance, planning and supervision of hydro generation unit overhauls, including pump back units, budget planning and management of capital jobs. Major responsibilities include the management, planning, and organization of several departments within the company to perform major lake drawdown activities for equipment inspection and repairs that are accomplished on a 20 year interval. Conduct business with federal agencies to perform work at sites within federal lands and to perform the work within the federal constraints involving land and wildlife issues. Engineer in charge of the restoration of a dam facility on National Forest land to meet safe operating abilities that SRP acquired.

Job duties at an oil and gas fired electrical generation station included civil and mechanical engineering support for operation and maintenance of the units. Work specialization in performance testing of units and specific equipment, design and supervision for plant equipment upgrade and performance improvements projects. Responsibilities included working with internal departments and external contractors at the site. Other duties include planning of major unit overhauls dealing with Steam Turbine upgrades/repairs, plant's annual budget, management of station water systems, and welding inspector for ASME code projects. Duties as Owner-User Inspector included the review of plant welding program and annual State inspections of boilers.

Worked on various engineering betterment jobs at all of the sites on the Salt and Verde River Systems. Major area of work was on betterment projects of the Salt and Verde Dam Sites.
