Don Dillard established Don Dillard Consulting, LLC in 2011. He is offering his creative problem solving services to clients who are embracing the many challenges associated with urban and regional development. Dillard has over 35 years of professional experience in planning, developing, and navigating the urban and regional environment of Texas. His experience includes the private sector as well as the public sector. His private sector experience includes: City and regional planning, land use and transportation planning, design and architecture, real estate development, and real estate management. His public service employment and volunteer activities include: City, county and regional governments, chamber of commerce, various state and metroplex professional organizations and various charity boards.As President of Galatyn Park Corporation, he managed the planning and development of this venture for the Hunt/Hill Family. Galatyn Park is a 500 acre mixed use TOD located in Richardson, Texas at the intersection of U.S. 75 Central and the President George Bush Turnpike. Galatyn Park is served by Dart’s two rail light stations- Bush Turnpike Station and the Galatyn Park Station. Dillard coordinated with Dart and the City of Richardson to locate these Dart Stations. Also he entitled and marketed the site for the largest office campus built in the metroplex in more than two decades: The Blue Cross-Blue Shield project which was awarded Dallas Business Journal’s “Deal of the Year” in 2006.As Vice President of Real Estate for Hunt Petroleum Corporation, Dillard managed over 5,000 acres in the Greater Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

  PRIVATE SECTOR EXPERIENCEDillard's career with the Hunt/Hill family started when he was hired to provide family donated right-of-way for what is today the President George Bush Turnpike. Additionally, Dillard played a key role in obtaining development rights for approximately 2,000 acres in Plano and Richardson along the corridor. PUBLIC SECTOR EXPERIENCEDillard's public sector employment included the cities of Waco and Temple, Texas. He served for 10 years as City Planner and Assistant City Manager in Waco. During his tenure, he was a private architectural and planning consultant to urban renewal agencies of several Texas cities. He also instructed part time, in urban development at Baylor University. In Temple, he worked in the engineering department.COMMUNITY SERVICEDillard served as Chairman of the North Texas Tollway Authority Board (NTTA), for four years of his nine years service to the NTTA Board. He was a Governor George Bush and a Collin County Appointee during his tenure on the NTTA Board. Governor Bush had previously appointed Mr. Dillard to the Texas Turnpike Authority ( TTA) which transitioned into the NTTA.Dillard's service to the Richardson Chamber of Commerce includes: Chairman of the Board, Vice Chairman for Economic Development and Chairman of the Richardson Developers Committee. In 1997, the Richardson Chamber of Commerce named Mr. Dillard “Citizen of the Year”. He has also served as President of the Plano Developers Council and as a member of the Plano Economic Development Board. In 2008 Dillard was honored with the “Living Legends Award” by the Collin College Foundation. Currently he serves as an Advisory Board Member on the Texas Motor Speedway’s Children Charities Board, which raises funds for grants benefiting children’s health, social and educational organizations. Dillard is also a founding Board Member of the Transit Coalition of North Texas, a think tank which serves to advance transit projects in north Texas.
