Products service the telecommunications, industrial, consumer and medical sectors. • Mentor junior engineers• Assist in reestablishing design center for the division in North America• Develop products with design team members in Europe and Asia. • Develop new design and drawing standards for the division along with implementing a new part numbering scheme.
• Developed a digital gauge for an Oil and Gas company, whose manufactures for worldwide sells. The gauge had to withstand all traditional rugged environmental conditions, extreme temperatures, watertight seals, shock resistance to name a few. • Responsible for all mechanical designs, created new components where required, modified existing components for cost reduction and created new and unique parts to complement an existing 50+ year analog gauge. Once the design was completed and tested further assistance was provided by attending trade shows to provide additional technical information over a 3 year period.• Patented a design for an optical connector for an on board connector which was later sold to a Fortune 500 company.• Responsible for the design of QSFP+, CX4, and CXP Active Optical Cable Assemblies, each assembly followed strict adherence to standard guidelines while optimizing for physical size and manufacturing tolerance constraints. • Individual components were manufactured utilizing overseas manufactures as well as an overseas assembly house for each of the cables assemblies for optimal cost savings. The connector housings used a combination of custom injected plastics, die cast metals and standard off the shelf components. Fibers were terminated in optical light engines. • Designed plastic trays used in aerial enclosures to meet the needs for fiber optic cabling.
• Main responsibly included designing plastic housings and heat sinks for cooling solutions in the LED lighting market and chip manufactures. • Designed 20+ different cooling solutions for various customers. All housings were unique designs for injection molding while the heat sinks ranged from casting, aluminum extrusions, or skiving. All housings had to ensure assembly by means of ultra sonic welding with air tight seals. All designs were reviewed with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability for high volumes.• Responsible for model preparation, setup, and build of components on in-house rapid prototyping machine. .• Designs were preformed using Solid Works.
