Don Garner formed the LL.M. Law Group in January 2003. Don has devoted his career to helping clients come to the United States; he focuses his practice on employment-based immigration law and has represented companies and individuals from 90 different countries in all 50 states. He has lived extensively abroad, including in Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Tunisia, China, Japan and South Korea. Don was named a “top immigration lawyer” by the Chicago Sun-Times and is the Liaison and recommended immigration service provider for the Chicago Consular Corps, the Chicago International Trade Commissioners’ Association, Rotary International and the Fulbright Association. He serves as the recommended attorney for the #ChicagoH1BConnect initiative led by World Business Chicago and P33 Chicago, which allows for H-1B visa candidates to transfer their visa status to work with over 40 employers in the burgeoning Chicago tech industry.Don is a devoted civil servant. He currently serves as President of the Northern Illinois Rotary Alumni Association and the co-President of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Academy Alumni Association for the Chicago Field Office. Previously he served as President of the Chicago Chapter of the Fulbright Association and as the youngest President of the Rotary Club of Chicago, the world’s first Rotary Club founded in 1905. During law school, Don served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court, Chair of the Diversity Committee and President of the LL.M. class.Don is a prolific speaker for immigration matters. He has spoken and led panel discussions for several international Chambers of Commerce, the Fulbright Association, Rotary Clubs, the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Chicago Consular Corps and the Chicago International Trade Commissioners’ Association. In the last twenty years, Don has appeared on local and international radio and television shows to discuss the impact of U.S. immigration developments.

Donald W. Garner founded the LL.M. Law Group in 2003. Don obtained his Master of International Laws degree cum laude while on a Fulbright Scholarship for the European Union in 2001. During his time at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Don wrote an award winning international trade treatise and was elected class president of the LL.M. student body. He obtained his Juris Doctor cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000 where he served as Chief Justice of the Moot Court program. Don is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and a respected member of the international legal community. In 2004, Don was elected the youngest President the history of the Rotary Club of Chicago, the world’s first Rotary Club established in 1905. Don currently serves as the President of the Rotary Alumni Association for Northern Illinois, encompassing three Rotary Districts. Don is the Past President of the Chicago Chapter of the Fulbright Association and has formed the International Volunteer Network of Chicago in cooperation with the Chicago Consular Corps and Chicago International Trade Commissioners' Association (CITCA). He is the Consular Corps Liaison for Rotary International and the Fulbright Association. Don is the recommended service provider for U.S. business immigration law issues for the Chicago Consular Corps and CITCA, for which the LL.M. Law Group is one of only six nondiplomatic partners. Don’s work, passion, and training are daily devoted to bringing people together from all over the world. The Chicago Sun-Times called him in 2006 a “top immigration attorney.” He has appeared on national and international television, radio and newspapers. Don is called upon for advice and law lectures by many local and multinational businesses and governmental groups.
