With over 25 years of experience in public service, I have developed core competencies in leadership, governance, policy, and advocacy. I have also served on a range of boards, councils and committees, including as a Board Member of the Australia Council for the Arts, where I supported the strategic direction and vision of the national arts funding and advisory body. I am a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Previously, I was the Leader of the Government, a Minister and Member of the Legislative Council in the NSW Parliament, where I held various portfolios, including the Arts, Resources, Energy, and Public Service. I have also been the President of the Legislative Council, and the Opposition Whip. I was a contributor to several publications on the political history of NSW and an occasional newspaper columnist. I am passionate about promoting the social, economic and place-making value of arts and culture, and advancing the aspirations and interests of Aboriginal people and communities.I am looking for new opportunities to leverage my diverse and extensive experience, and contribute to the growth and success of organizations that share my values and goals.
