Establishes project priorities and timelines, determines project metrics and monitors compliance, administers multimillion-dollar budgets, hires and evaluates sub-contractors while reviewing contract performance, delegates and oversees tasks, appraises staff performance.Key Achievements:• Wrote specifications and served as point-of-contact for optical/mechanical design study at the University of Arizona’s Optical Sciences Center for meter-class siderostats and other optics. • Developed optical designs and specifications for the manufacture of 35-cm off-axis beam compressors and specialized hemispherical retroreflectors for laser metrology applications.• Envisioned and led development of three-dimensional, 46-beam laser metrology system.• Chair at national and international scientific meetings; reviewer for NASA and Smithsonian Institution research proposals and research papers for scientific journals.• Two-time co-recipient of Naval Research Lab Alan Berman Research Publication Award, Special Act Award, and ten-time recipient of institution’s Outstanding Performance Award.
