The civil and building contractor – Alstom being the main contractor to the Ministry of Power and Water – on the Phase 2 extension to the existing power plant. The project was located on reclaimed land and required extensive ground improvement using vibro-flotation and stone pile installation techniques. The project comprised the installation and commissioning of 3 gas turbines, with heat recovery boilers and 1 steam turbine, to an extremely tight schedule. The project had several penalty-attracting milestones that were all achieved and overall, our project was completed profitably and within the contract period.
