The Al Bayariq programme is one of the most important projects within the UAE and notably was implemented by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The programme delivers Military, Civil Defense and Security training to circa 60,000 students. My role includes:• Coordination of the work schedule within the team, briefing instructors and overseeing logistical and administrative requirements.• Managing a multidisciplinary, multinational team, to deliver KPI’s aligned to stakeholder requirements.• Providing progress and quality assurance reports.• Maintaining Health and Safety standards, conducting risk assessments, reporting hazards and taking necessary action to mitigate incidents.• Providing professional development and conducting performance appraisals for all staff.• Developing manpower plans.• Delivering leadership guidance and developing instructors to ensure a high standard of delivery.• Reporting to G.H.Q. with regard to budgetary payments.

I lectured on an ad-hoc basis in change management.

I was employed on a High Profile defence project with responsibility for providing Business Service Continuity arrangements for approximately 45 Ministry of Defence (MoD) sites in Scotland. Activities included:-• Developed and delivered Business Continuity Strategy, testing processes, creating and delivering tailored training programmes to large MoD establishments • Developing comprehensive Business Service Continuity plans that include risk assessment, emergency response and crisis management to Defence establishments throughout Scotland for ground breaking MoD IT System.• Presenting Business Continuity Solutions and System Overview descriptions to High Level MoD and Corporate Personnel.

I held the role of Change Manager with responsibility for 44 MoD sites from Carlisle to Crewe. Activities included:-• Liaison with the Site Point of Contact to ensure that information is kept current and all changes affecting roll-out are captured.• Drafting business cases to change services required at sites and submitting these through the change management process.• Assessing any other change requests raised by units and garrisons against the roll-out plan and to validate potential new changes using the business rules and draft business cases where required• Tracking of submitted business cases and Request For Changes (RFC) until these are reflected in the monthly migration sequence.• Communicating progress and results of the RFCs to the sites.

Team leader on a Windows XP re-life project for approx 40000 users. Activities included:-• Training users on new operating system and bespoke applications• Senior Executive support.• Coordinating floor walking activities and liaising with departmental managers.• Carrying out briefings to senior management• Problem solving and escalation of incidents• Software builds and hardware replacement for HP Compaq desktop and laptop units.

I was employed on a high profile Business Improvement Project working within ITIL disciplines and Prince 2 methodology. Whilst predominantly working to my own initiative, to a high standard and within tight deadlines other activities included:-• The design and implementation of resource management application to capture business unit status.• Providing technical advice and support throughout the business and in particular to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery measures.• The collection and analysis of data in order to produce high quality management information reports.• Regularly chairing meetings• Risk and issue management• Stakeholder involvement• Milestone tracking

I joined the Royal Navy in 1978 qualifying as a helicopter engineer and I achieved successive promotions, latterly working as Watch Chief Petty Officer of a large Anti-Submarine Warfare/Search and Rescue helicopter squadron. My duties and responsibilities included organisation of manpower, implementation and execution of training, coaching and mentoring for both junior and senior staff, producing appraisals, training and staff reports, personnel welfare and career development.• Project Manager for a Naval Air Squadron Maintenance Unit. I held responsibility for the management of a team of 8 multi-traded engineers involving the systematic strip, survey, repair and rebuild of Seaking Mk 6 helicopters. I planned, monitored and controlled resources to maximise efficiency and completed the overhauls to specification and within deadline. Achievement: The successful completion of 4 refurbished airframes delivered in flying condition back to the squadron over a 20 month period, all delivered to specified quality and within strict timescale.•Watch Chief Petty Officer for a multi-traded helicopter maintenance team I was responsible for fault diagnosing, servicing and repair of a 10 aircraft Naval Air Squadron incorporating a Search and Rescue aircraft to be available at short notice. This also required planning and preparation of resources, to ensure aircraft availability, to meet busy flying programmes. •Managed the Naval Air Station aviation fuel and salvage department. Responsibilities included the supply and accounting of aviation fuel (£1m budget). The planning and subsequent implementation of salvage procedures in the event of recovering downed aircraft. •A fully accredited technical instructor and was responsible for the design and instruction of technical training courses. I carried out training in mechanical systems for both junior and senior engineers and aircrew which necessitated assessment through student progress and performance reports and examining..
