Don Macpherson has been one of the Premier Specialist Family Lawyers and Elder and Estate Lawyers in Queensland for more than 30 years. Don's Family Law practice involves complex property settlement disputes, wills and estate disputes, and estate planning matters (including retirement village contracts). Prior to 2017, Don was the Brisbane Managing Partner for a leading Qld Law firm, heading a Family Law Team of 10 and an Elder Law (Wills and Estates) Team of 10 across 3 offices statewide. Macpherson Family Law commenced in 2017, doing both Family Law and Elder Law.In 2018, we started Brisbane Elder Law, which deals with Wills, Estates, Will Disputes, Estate Litigation, Guardianship, Administration, and Elder Law issues (including specialist expertise with Retirement Village contracts).Starting Macpherson Family Law and Brisbane Elder Law allowed Don to focus directly on the needs of clients, assisting them during what is often the most challenging time of their lives. His business experience and qualifications give him particular insight in relation to the business and commercial issues that often arise in complex family and estate disputes between couples and families.Don’s Approach“My function and focus is to help people deal with what is often the worst thing that has happened to them in their lives. His interests include virtually every type of sport, and he remains a rather inactive member of the Australian Lawyers Surfing Association. In an earlier life (last century) he represented Queensland and Australia in Touch Football. He is a member of the Assembly of Catholic Professionals, and he and Lesa are actively involved in a charity in the Brisbane Catholic Archdiocese.
