We tested the waters by hiring new talent to convert a targeted amount of warm leads into new business. We created scalable systems to align targeted revenue, staff, and product assets and then ramp up our efforts. We started with a few new sales professionals and over two months expanded the team further. The response was tremendous and customers were appreciative of our queries regarding their needs. We experienced record breaking call volume growth and expanded our sales team into the hundreds. We expanded consumer call center and added a new facility for thousands of national rental accounts to reserve trucks and transportation services nationwide. By creating a “one call does it all” mantra recurring and record breaking revenue levels resulted. We successfully implemented SalesForce which enabled improved efficiencies while effectively managing costs with zero additional overhead. Due to our success we expanded SalesForce across the entire Field Rental organization and established KPI’s that further drove performance. Our go-to-market organization became one of the most profitable ventures across the business, led by the most amazingly talented National Rental Account Executives.As our business evolved we sought additional ways to drive growth. We developed and implemented brand new sales training for all rental sales associates and experienced a 300% improvement in our top line results within the first 90 days post training. Between the use of these new sales methodologies and our ability in negotiating large national rental account and strategic consumer partnership deals, we brought in hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue, while achieving substantive improvements in market awareness of the Penske brand. -

By working together our team exceeded both revenue growth and profit targets throughout my tenure. One of the more notable projects I spearheaded involved creating and introducing a new “one way rate making tool” for creating all rates nationwide. This project was quite complex and critical to our goal of delivering sustainable and profitable growth. Once launched, the rate analysts were faced with a challenging learning curve, but due to the fact that we put together a very effective plan, the analysts were able to begin using the system immediately.We were also able to negotiate and close a significant partnership deal with a “top tier” national transportation related affinity partner that had previously partnered with our main competition for over 15 years. By selling and demonstrating Penske’s quality and passion for a great customer experience, we were able to close the deal and to this day our partnership remains incredibly strong. Roger Penske’s passion for 100% clean trucks remains our mantra for all customer rentals. To further that passion we developed a “Ready Line Excellence” to ensure every truck rented out is perfect. Our redesigned prep process enabled record-breaking efficiencies and our NPS scores have improved every year. During this time we also rolled out “The Penske Promise” nationwide which guarantees “a truck for each reservation that will always be less than 3 years old.” The feedback we received from our clients has been outstanding.
