Served as Detachment Commander of Military Police Detachment, Criminal Investigation Division and Mission Special Agent in Charge of protective service operations for the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Other assignments included, Training Officer for the United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM) Protective Service Detachment (PSD) responsible for developing and implementing short and long term training events. Developed and instructed Interview and Interrogation courses for Federal Narcotics officers and attorneys in Cape Verde, Africa. Served as a liaison for the USAFRICOM Commander in security meetings with several Ambassadors and Embassy staff of several countries within Africa, Europe, and within the United States. Investigated all felony crimes in which the Army had an interest, provided protective services for key Department of Defense and Army leadership, while working closely with other federal, state and local law enforcement and intelligence agencies to solve crime and combat terrorism. Commanded several protective details ensuring successful planning, staffing and execution of protective service operations. Reviewed training circular and implemented changes reflecting current operating procedures to ensure uniformity with both military and civilian counterparts. Trained and mentored subordinates in developing leadership potential while implementing innovative techniques and blending different leadership styles.

Coordinated Protective Service Operations Training Program (PSOTP)for various federal agencies. This training involves highly complex specialized skills emphasizing the full spectrum of protection operations to include Doctrine and Terminology, Coordination and Mission Planning, Protective Service Motorcade Operations, Site and Event Advances, and Route Surveys. Conducted evaluations of students and provided critical feedback during practical exercises utilizing role players and real-world establishments. Served as a basic instructor for federal law enforcement officers and law enforcement officers from various state and local agencies with an emphasis on Counterterrorism subject matter. This subject matter includes Terrorism, First Response, Hazardous Materials, Aircraft Counter Measures, Operations Security, Man-Portable Air Defense, Surveillance Detection and various other subjects. Performed liaison contacts with other agencies concerning course curriculum to ensure uniformity of instruction. Served as Coordinator for the Commercial Vehicle Counterterrorism Training Program (CVCTP) that is designed to train law enforcement officers responsible for the enforcement of commercial vehicles traveling on the Nation’s highways. This course focuses on large commercial vehicles that are utilized in acts of terrorism, either as a weapon of mass destruction or transporting materials to further terrorist organizations.Served as an instructor in the Firearms Division, with a focus on firearms course areas of law enforcement, to basic and advanced federal law enforcement officers and law enforcement officers from various state and local agencies. This training involved highly specialized knowledge and skills in the handling and use of a variety of firearms and the accompanying tactics for their usage. Coordinated firearms training that included pistol, rifle, and shotgun.

Administered polygraph examinations for cadet applicants to the North Carolina Highway Patrol during initial screening to ensure that historical as well as current information received during the background interview process was factual and accurate. This process was achieved by conducting an extensive interview process utilizing basic interviewing as well as verbal and nonverbal cues. The process was then followed by operating certifiable specialized equipment that identifies and records biological and physiological body responses which are indicative of an attempt to deliberately fabricate or conceal facts. Provided training to North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers and law enforcement officers from various state and local agencies. Designed, developed, and instructed course materials in the field of law enforcement. These courses include, Firearms, Anti-Terrorism, Rapid Deployment (Response to an Active Shooter), Interviewing, Report Writing, Communications Skills, for Law Enforcement Officers, Crowd Management, Controlled Substances, and Crime Prevention Techniques. Initiated revisions and updates to existing curriculums to ensure compliance to changes of federal law, state law, highway patrol policy and procedure and current law enforcement practices, and initiated any other changes for the overall successful achievement of course objectives. Coordinated statewide firearms training to include pistol, rifle, and shotgun, for cadet candidates and all sworn members of the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
