I have a wide variety of experience across numerous infrastructure projects encompassing security, system administration, software development, networking, and database. I have led small teams of a handful as well as serving as an individual contributor. I recently gained the Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin and Core Certified Power User certifications based upon my experience over the past few years with audit compliance, in addition my existing ones of ISC2 CISSP/ISSEP and SANS GSEC/GCUX/GCIA.My journey started in software development where I worked with hundreds of engineers on a variety of specialized engineering applications within large systems such as controlling custom hardware, calculating complex mathematical transformations, and high performance libraries involving low-level system calls.Then I was on some significantly smaller projects which afforded me the opportunity to expand into Unix administration, Oracle database with PL/SQL, TCP/IP networking, and multi-level security while continuing to program.I transitioned into security engineering focusing on ensuring systems under construction are adequately secured including requirements analysis, security documentation/baseline configuration, hardening, network integration testing, vulnerability/compliance scanning/remediation, risk analysis, and assessment test procedures to achieve system certification. I have worked with a variety of activities and technologies in this capacity: penetration testing, networking: firewalls, Brocade Switches, Cisco routers/firewalls, storage: NetApp, Isilon, VSP, databases: Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server databases, virtualization: vCenter/ESXi, and operating systems: RHEL Linux, Windows, IPMI, applications such as Splunk, SecurityCenter/Nessus, Tripwire, Xacta, and coding in languages such as Bash, Expect, Perl, VBA, C++, Python, and R.I thrive on challenges and I am ready for next my adventure.
