A 3 month Contract position to facilitate moving the data center from the Santa Clara office to the new San Jose office. Uninstalled routers, servers, raids, and other equipment from the racks in Santa Clara to the new racks in San Jose and cabling the servers and raids to the Cisco routers.

Employed as the Senior programmer for the last 8 years at Enertech I was also the Network administrator at this time. Enertech is a small consulting firm in Campbell that builds and sells meters, and consults on Electric and Magnetic 60 Hz Fields (EMF). While working as a programmer I accomplished the following:• Produced 7 major upgrades for the EMF Workstation application for EPRI. All 7 upgrades were delivered on time and on budget. This software is used by power companies all over the world.• Developed 2 major upgrades for the RF Estimator application for EPRI. This software is used by power companies to comply with the federal guide lines on possible exposure to RF frequency equipment on power line structures. Both upgrades were delivered on time and on budget.• Completed 2 major upgrades and 2 minor upgrades for the EMCALC Software that is used to communicate to the EMDEX II and Lite meters that Enertech sells. Many power companies and individuals use the meters around the world. • Developed a program for the Palm handheld device for an electric power company to record data information from the substations and download the information to an Access database. Which was used to develop reports and follow trends to prevent power failures.

Installed and maintained the office servers, workstations, LAN, WAN, T1, and phone system for the 17 years at Enertech. Enertech is a small consulting firm in Campbell that builds and sells meters, and consults on Electric and Magnetic 60 Hz Fields (EMF). For 8 years of my employment at Enertech I also was the senior programmer updating 3 software applications. The entire 17 years at Enertech I worked as the Network Administrator as well and accomplished the following:• Configured and installed Domain Controllers, DNS, WINS, DHCP, Exchange Server, ISA Server, and IIS Server. Taking their network from one that was constantly being rebooted to a stable network increasing productivity.• Updated the shared modem to an ISDN line and then to a T1 increasing the productivity on the internet.• Upgraded the email from individual accounts at AT&T to a company Exchange server• Redesigned the company Website and maintained it.• Responded to all user requests for technical support. Fixed problems, reinstalled operating systems, replaced hard drives, installed software and trained 2 employees from CityTeam alcohol recovery center how to be a network administrator. • Spearheaded 2 moves setting up and managing the installation of new cabling, routers, computers, and servers.

Began as an installer of computers and printers. Obtained an MCSE and became the Network Administrator directly below the CIO. Ropers, Majeski, Kohn and Bentley is the 16th largest law firm in California specializing in business litigation and appellate law as well as many other fields of litigation. During my employment at Ropers I performed the following tasks:• Configured, installed and managed all routers, switches and firewalls. • Managed 5 employees in the satellite offices and 2 employees in the Redwood City headquarters.• Verified the Data Backups every day and the backup equipment for the network servers and IBM AS400 midrange server used for billing. • Worked with outside vendors and teams to develop voice and data wiring infrastructure. Acted as primary contact for computer hardware and software problems, as well as network emergencies. • Helped manage 2 major server / workstation upgrades from 286 computers and Novel servers, to Windows NT servers and 386 computers, to Pentium computers and windows 95. All staged installations to minimize down time and maintain productivity.
